How to post a YouTube video on these forums (highlight, Word, copy)

I don't think it makes difference. I still have to do the steps posted above. (post #12)

If the related setting D217 mentioned has been configured correctly (see screenshot) then no need to mess with tags as City-Data will see the pasted video link is for YouTube and will automagically insert the related tags.

One caveat: if you EDIT your post that you already posted, then C-D might show it as a link instead of embedding it in the post. I am not sure if this is by design or a defect or an isolated case for me?

Here I pasted the original above video link from the address field while I edit this post and this is what I got:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJdqJu-6ZPo

Then using the tags mentioned in post #12 is needed:

I've noticed this, too. It's my understanding that you've got maybe 5 minutes to edit your post before the video switches back to a link. It may be connected to the time allowance for editing. Like when you wait too long to edit or decide to change your post later, it shows the date/time the post was edited @ the bottom.

Oh the links open fine, but they don't show as a YT video image.. just a url.
How do you get the YT Video image embedded in the post is my problem.

Write first:
[youtube /youtube] <<< those words need to have brackets on both sides [ ] [/]
with little space in between.
Then paste the whole link in that space, and delete this part: (bolded)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGEezaAPp20
leaving only this weird looking combination of letters and numbers.

This link is a bit different. So, you paste it between YT brackets like above, and delete the bolded part:
https://youtu.be/UGEezaAPp20




It should look like this:
