New England Brewing Co. out of Woodbridge will be releasing Imperial Stout Trooper soon...after Christmas from what I heard so should hit local stores in early January.

One of the best imperial stout beers in the world.

When I was a young man I went in for all those fancy shmancy beers. Now I just drink Schaefer like I did when I was a teen.

Hooker and New England Brewing are my two favorites. Old Burnside in East Hartford is also good, but they only sell growlers in package stores (look in the cooler).

We like to go to Tomato & Basil on blackrock turnpike in Fairfield. They have a host of local brews on tap and will gladly give you a sample or two while you decide what you like. The owner goes all over locally to bring in brews around the area and they change what they have often. Food isn't stellar but appetizers are good so if you are looking for an easy place with good stuff on tap and maybe an order of bruschetta this is a great place.

Charter Oak operates out of CT, although it's not brewed here.

I do like BAR's beer. Unpasteurized and fresh. Goes well with that amazing pizza.
