Why is there ALWAYS a traffic jam on 95 north in Norwalk between the entrance ramp from Scriebner Ave and the exit ramp for 7 at 15?? Seriously, every time I go through there I always get stuck in a traffic jam that same stretch. Could be 9 AM, could be 3 PM, could be 11:30 PM, there is always a backup.

Too many entrances and exits in a short area.

Yeah that area is always a pain, Don't they have mockup drawing how all that road work is going to look like when it's done? I can't figure out what they are doing.. You know they cut all the trees down on the connector and some of the ramp ways.. are they building overpasses in that area?

they are expanding overpasses with the widening. and a question for everyone: what would happen if a random contractor w/o the states permission double decked the entire strech from greenwich all the way to stratford/milford? would that be illegal, or just unethical b/c they didnt ask for state permission?

I'm just glad to observe that many more employers are beginning to allow for Telecommuting. My old job used to let you telecommute; I miss working in my PJ's and being able to avoid traffic unless I had a client or internal meeting. The downside was that I used to work from 8am - 8pm with little to no socializing in between, whereas going into the office meant more "watercooler chats."

My point is that technological advancements may help to control the high amounts of traffic/congestion in CT (albeit a very slow change). It may also encourage more people to find farther-away jobs (e.g. NYC) even if they live in rural areas like Litchfield County, since physical commute is only required on a semi-regular basis.

UH... First, this would be illegal because the state owns I-95 and by law no one can do any work within a state highway right-of-way without a permit and approval of ConnDOT. Secondly, who would do that? Why would anyone spend billions to double deck a highway for no reason. It is not very logical. Jay

More companies should be willing to do this when practical. It saves them money and makes employees happy.
