Not the section from Union Avenue to Church Street. The city was originally only interested in removing the section from Church Street to the Air Rights Garage which has been pretty much been built in the first phase of the project. The second phase was to connect Temple Street from MLK Drive to South Frontage Road and prepare development sites in between Church and College.

When LWLP came in they demanded that Orange Street be connected and Route 34 be brought to grade there so the city reluctantly agreed. They got the state to fund the project but it was contingent upon LWLP obtaining a commitment from a major hotel which is what the city has been waiting for. Jay

I don't agree with the terminology "revitalize". They're just building onto Wooster Square. Wooster Square has never been a problem area and has been a desirable place to live for a while.

I agree. The only reason the Comcast Building is such a ness is because it has sat vacant and neglected waiting for its owners to finally build what has been talked about for years. Jay

I believe the city had a vision before LWLP to do all streets.

The plan being shown here was developed after LWLP came onboard with the coliseum site. Again, the original plan was to eliminate the expressway from Church Street to the Air Rights Garage and not between Union and Church. Jay

Gotcha. Makes sense. I would imagine now that any developer would ask for the same once that expectation has been set.
