Anyone looking for refreshing air its coming. Well wake up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday mornings with temps in the 50s.

Cold front dropping down from Canada. Day temps finally seasonable or less. Should be short lived though.

Heads up for storms Saturday evening.

Here are the temps from latest GFS for Tuesday night

So when are these storms moving in Saturday? Do i let the threat of heavy thunder ruin ANOTHER boating day?

I'm thinking after 4pm. Cold front still near Canadian border. Once again the storms will be spotty because air will stabilize as time moves on.. but some could be strong with intense lightning and high winds. We just dont know where or exactly when. Have the radar on hand.

Do you have alerts setup on your phone? Its free.

Upton. Enjoy the heat today folks.

AN UPPER HIGH THAT ENCOMPASSES MUCH OF THE LOWER 48 HAS EXPANDED
TO THE EAST COAST AND WILL BRING A DAY OF VERY HOT AND HUMID
CONDITIONS AS AFTERNOON HIGHS APPROACH THE CENTURY MARK ACROSS METRO
NEW YORK...AND THE LOWER TO MID 90S ACROSS MOST OTHER LOCATIONS.
THE HEAT COMBINED WITH THE HUMIDITY WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDEX VALUES
OF AROUND 100 IN THE ADVISORY AREAS...AND AROUND 105 IN THE
WARNING AREA.
ELSEWHERE...THESE VALUES WILL BE IN THE MID TO UPPER
90S...CLOSE ENOUGH TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS AND LIMIT OUTDOOR
ACTIVITIES AND EXPOSURE TIME.

THINGS GET A BIT INTERESTING THIS EVENING AND THE FIRST HALF OF THE
OVERNIGHT FROM A CONVECTIVE STANDPOINT. MODEST DEEP-LAYERED SHEAR
WILL COMBINE WITH MARGINAL TO MODERATE INSTABILITY AS POST-FRONTAL
CONVECTION DEVELOPS JUST BEHIND THE COLD FRONT AS IT SETTLES TO THE
SOUTH THIS EVENING. THE LIMITING FACTOR IS CLEARLY THE INSTABILITY...
AND THUS POPS REMAIN 30 TO 40 PERCENT. HOWEVER...THERE IS THE
POTENTIAL FOR MCS DEVELOPMENT AS CLUSTERS OF THUNDERSTORMS
BECOMING ALIGNED PARALLEL TO THE W/NW FLOW ALOFT. THE MAIN THREAT
LOOKS TO BE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...POSSIBLY ISOLATED STRONG DAMAGING
WINDS DEPENDING UPON THE AVAILABLE INSTABILITY. TOO LITTLE INSTABILITY...
AND THE SHEAR WILL TEAR THE THUNDERSTORMS APART. THE AIR MASS
ALSO LOOKS TO BE TOO WARM FOR LARGE HAIL
.

I'm hoping the thunderstorms hold off for most of the Northeast (though the map currently shows a large juicy band going from about the western Berkshires clear across to Buffalo/Toronto). Those fireworks I missed on the 4th were rescheduled to tonight and we're going home tomorrow.

Though it looks obvious those storms will reach the lower Northeast, I noticed all the NWS discussions talk about how our unusually low humidity during this heat wave may kill even inland. So crossing my fingers.....

Yeah, I just got a text alert telling me that FFC was under a severe t'storm watch until 7:00 p.m.

I have to admit it, it's too warm even for me, and it takes a lot to get to me. I was working in the gardens for a few hours and being indoors next to the AC now feels awfully good. I just don't like the humidity. While I hope no one's fireworks or outdoor plans are ruined, I would love a good t'storm, though.

OVERNIGHT MODEL GUIDANCE DID NOT SEEM TO CAPTURE THE ELEVATED MCS
DEVELOPMENT OVER NY THIS MORNING. HOWEVER...12Z NAM-WRF DOES
INDICATE A CONVECTIVE SYSTEM ACROSS THE REGION...ALBEIT SOMEWHAT
BEHIND SCHEDULE BASED ON LATEST RADAR TRENDS.

If you have a smart phone there's many apps you can download. I personally like TWC's radar the best but I use a paid software program called GREarth so all I use is that..

You can find all the apps through your phone..

Here's the non app links. Find the option to loop it to see the motion. Some show storm tracks like W.U.
