Short Quick Look Ahead.

Ridge is gone, off the the west now. Trough is in somewhat weak. High pressure over us. Atlantic Ridge building stronger.

Seasonable temps all week (80s). Night time lows maybe slightly below (60s)
Warm up this weekend only because of Humidity. Get ready for it. Bermuda high to pump south winds up and moisture.
Next chance of rain comes this weekend and looks like a showery chance workweek next week.
Was in the 40s North of Albany last night and again tonight.

No big storms brewing still. Been a long while now.

It would be nice to have a day or two of good rain showers...I'm sick of watering the grass and it's only July!

Seems temps are getting pushed higher and higher all week. Started in the low 80's in the forecast all week now seeing upper 80's.

I also noticed that the temperature forecast for the week keeps fluctuating.

Fluctuating up it seems. Not sure why or what was originally missed.

I was at the beach all day Sunday, most of Monday, and much of today (just got back at 3:00 PM)...and the weather has been great. Today was 10 out of 10 , sunny, low 80's, modest humidity, not a cloud in the sky. I could get used to this 12 months a year - lol.

Would not want it 12 months a year but it is PERFECT summer weather...could not ask for better for this time of year. Can do water activities but still tolerate the heat.

I started a winter prediction game if you want to join. Just take a wild guess. We'll do it three times. July, September and a final one in November. Details here. PM me with any questions.

I saw this on NWS OKX's FB page. Given that I was quite a "weather geek" back then too, I'm surprised I don't remember this in the news, etc. I would think this would be pretty major, it's probably the only F-4 this area ever had:

"23 years ago today (July 10, 1989), a series of tornadoes (17 total) moved across portions of the Northeast US, including NY, NJ, CT and MA. Of the 17, the most destructive was an F-4 that hit Hamden, CT. The Hamden tornado was the strongest recorded tornado in the Tri-State area (OKX forecast area). The tornado destroyed 23 homes and over 50 businesses, caused damage to hundreds of structures, injured over 90 people, and caused over $250 million in damage."
