What about contacting WTNH (Channel 8) about your situation. They might be able to help. Jay

Stratford Star? Do they even print that rag anymore?
The CT Post and WTNH would be equally worthless IMHO.

The CT Commuter Council Chairman actually posted a few times on here a couple years ago. I'd try contacting him.

The whole wait list process is just silly. A five year wait list shows that the passes are not appropriately priced. They should utilize a Dutch auction to allocate the passes every year. I'm sure there is some state prohibition on this, but it would allocate the passes more efficiently while raising additional revenue for the town. Win win.

I know you mentioned that there is no "Confirmation" system in place, but surely there's something on record saying that you asked for the spot 6 years ago?

By the way, I wonder if your story would be a good one for media outlets like the Stratford Star or the Connecticut Post. Commuting and travel times are both big issues in Fairfield County, so I'm sure they would garner attention.
I got in contact with my local councilman, and he talked to someone at town hall. Apparently there was no system to provide confirmation to the applicant until 2010 (and I applied in summer 2007, when our offer on this house was accepted).

I mean, I could try to contact someone else, but the problem is that there's simply no proof of any of this other than my word.

Did you get an email confirmation when you put your name on the list? I recall that I got a confirmation when I put my name on the wait list when I lived in Stratford, and they sent me periodic confirmations asking that I wanted to remain on it.

No - that's what they said they didn't provide back in 2007. Sounds like you had a different experience, though...

Have you contacted anyone yet? I would have contacted a LOT of people already. Make some noise.

That's odd. I put my name on the list in 2005. Sounds to me like they screwed up and don't want to admit it.

I wish I could remember EXACTLY what I did so that I could figure out whether *I* could be the problem before raising a stink.

Why would you think you registered if you did not. I would trust your memory and make the stink. Jay
