Some will. Some will leave the Northeast altogether. I also expect many to splinter into tons of regional offices, instead of 1 or 2 large offices. Plus wfh will reduce the need for office space to a large degree.

I read today Hooters is closed permanently in Milford, and GNC is also closing in Milford in the first wave of its stores to close.

GNC is closing in Stamford too.

I think Hooter's was suffering before COVID. We're not exactly in a great political climate currently for a place like that to thrive, especially in more liberal areas. And they had a double whammy attracting younger people on top of the whole objectifying women part, as those younger people are avoiding these unhealthy chains in general.

I would not be surprised if they went bye-bye nationwide at some point.

The 400 layoffs at Barnes Group is worldwide, not just here in Connecticut. They have not said where they will happen. Jay

So far Yale hasn't cut back, and I hope it stays that way, as Yale controls the coast from New Haven to the NY state line pretty much, with the exception of Griffin. (Either via direct ownership or 3rd party "partnerships" a/k/a Milford Hospital), which "officially" was bought by Bridgeport Hospital.

These unemployment numbers are scary, and disproportionately high, as I would expect, in the states that had the most dire lockdowns and covid results. This headline from story below seemed like hyperbole, but it is sadly, reality. 675,000 Ct residents have filed for UI since March 13, over a third of our workforce.

Lamont needs to get Ct moving again, quickly. Consequences from massive business interruptions are not necessarily "temporary" as we have witnessed via permanent business closings the last 4 months.

That Hooters imo was in a horrible location. Yes it's close to the mall but I'm not leaving the mall going to a bar. It should of been closer to new haven. Ideally downtown for it to thrive

That's what all of the Covid-19 spiking states thought and look what's happening to them.

Slow but steady wins the race. Consistent, effective effort leads to success. This is the moral of one of Aesop's fables, “The Tortoise and the Hare.”

I always say on here "Education, Education, Education" is the key.
When it comes to Covid-19 "Science, Science, Science" is the key.
