There is plenty of high incomes in central CT and a few other towns around the state. But yes there is a big gap from poor towns and the rich ones.

And up into Middlesex, Hartford and Tolland Counties where there is a lot of affluence and home prices are more reasonable. Jay

Exactly. And many snowbirds, who also happen to be baby boomers, are changing their primary residence to FL yet still maintaining a residence in CT.

I've been touring wealthy shoreline communities in Guilford, Old Saybrook and Essex this summer and was shocked at the number of Florida plates I saw. I'd guess about 1 in 3 residents of those areas had FL plates on the car.

That seems a "tad" high.

A little but it is pretty high in some towns. I was in an over 55 community this summer and noticed close to half the homes had Florida plate cars.

There's a lot of towns where it is doninated by people making less then $50K a yea: Hartford, Groton, New London, Waterbury, Middletown, Meriden, New Britain, Norwich, New Haven, Danbury, nd Bridgeport
