I'm leaving work (Stamford going back to Trumbull) around noonish today. I'm not bothering with the roof rake on this one. The gutters are all clear from the previous melt, I'm going to let Mother Nature take care of it. I hope most of it is off the roof by next Friday though, I've got the HVAC folks coming to do the Spring maintenance on my Central Air and they have to go up in the attic. I don't want all the warm air getting up there to my snow covered roof.

Roof rake end of March in CT? Nahh, Not enough sub freezing temps to cause Ice jams now plus when that sun shines it will make roof snow disappear like magic.

And I'm hearing at least mid-40s tomorrow (with sun to boot!) anyways....

Here's an interesting stat from the Weather Channel I didn't think of regarding this unusual winter:

This will be a distant memory by tomorrow afternoon. Still an impressive late season snow.

Yup enjoy it cause we struggle past 30s again after that for 2 days at least. Snow on ground won't be melting fast and that's crazy to say this time of yr.

Current radar and metars.. The rain/snow line is still in southern Delaware.

Mount Holly reporting snow so some areas are getting some decent rates falling.

Throw away the calendar and snip away a few hours of daylight, and you'd think we're in the middle of winter.

Consensus is no raking... so undoubtedly Mother Nature, being quite ornery this winter, will make us regret this approach, but I'm all for solidarity, so no roof raking it is!

Front edge now entering the state. Give it some time to moisture up the atmosphere. Right on schedule (after/around lunch) Should be all cleared after 7pm.

Current Radar & actual Metars with 850mbTemps.
The Rain/Snow reports are following the 0C line aloft so far, East of WV/Pittsburgh.

In other words... you need the 4000 foot level in order to have snow. South of that freezing line aloft, forget snow

We don't have to worry here, that freezing line wont come near us. All snow.
