I have checked the metal tag...even opened the furnace metal door to check the model inside. The model installed is the correct one-96.5% 2 stage furnace.
I wrote to the heating company for changing the sticker. It seems they are not pleased and dont consider it a big issue. On my writing an e mail to them, the manager of the heating comapany wrote the following e mail to the person concerned at the distributor
"THIS MAN WANTS THE CORRECT STICKER FOR HIS FURNACE,CAN YOU GET ONE FROM TRANE."
He copied the e mail to me also.

This seems to be a very offending e mail....as if I am creating trouble. They dont realize that it is they who created all the trouble. Initially I thought of responding to the e mail angrily..but have resisted doing so..as I still have to get my invoice and warranty papers from the heating company.

I have to say I find it hard to believe that a major company like Trane would put the incorrect sticker on its units. Seems strange. And it is even stranger that they would give you a hard time doing it. Jay
