NYC is finance. Hartford is insurance which isn’t the same thing. High tech in Hartford is largely IT back office overhead. It’s not the kind of tech that creates intellectual property. Hartford has a ton of high compensation professional jobs but you can’t use the NYC or Bay Area finance and tech classifications to describe them.

It looks like the Noble Gas/Apartment project over near the State Office Building is nearing completion. The unusual project combines a gas station and convenience store with apartments. It is a nice looking building but it remains to be seen if renters would accept living above a convenience store and gas station. Will see. Jay

Well it looks like the Hartford Yardgoats are ready to set a record season attendance again. It is great that they are doing so well. Hopefully this will keep up. Jay

I don't trust attendance numbers from most minor league teams. New Britain tried to claim about 1,196 last night for the Bees. The actual "crowd" was THE smallest I've seen in their 3 years here. As for Hartford, I'm on the outside looking in. I haven't been to a single home game. (I did see Hartford at Trenton on August 21st, however.)

So that was Wednesady? Probably a lot of no-shows because it was so hot. I was at the Yard Goats game and it was a pretty good crowd but not completely full even though all tickets were sold. Again, no doubt the heat kept many away. They usually measure attendance by tickets sold, not the number of people who actually walk through the turnstiles. But if you tried to get Yard Goats tickets at the last minute this year, you would see the numbers were legit. Almost impossible to get tickets.

Virtually all sport attendance figures (major league, minor league, college) are tickets sold not the numbers of folks in the stands. However, once the Yard Goats start selling standing only, it's a good bet the place is sold out.
