If the city can get actual taxpaying businesses in that stretch of Albany Ave as opposed to a nonprofit or yet another storefront church, it will be a win for the neighborhood. That section of 44 has been a major eyesore for so long, and it's this easternmost strip of the Ave that's still neglected. It's the only part of Albany that really has an intimidating appearance. Everywhere else has been cleaned up. Granted, there's still plenty of criminal activity here, but it's now mostly confined to late at night, and it doesn't seem to be as prevalent as it was a few years ago.

The other part about hotels is the rise of a airbnb. If city residents can rent out their homes all the better.

The density of Hartford is dense. Highway infrastructure adapted to the city. A beltway would of been great nearly impossible. Takes up some land such as where Union Station is. Now converting that parking lot and area to either a food hall/apartment complex. Add in a restaurant/wine bar similar to the Naugatuck atation. Remodel Union Station with the increase in train service now to Springfield/Wallingford. With a walkway to Bushnell Park that is avoidant of pedestrian traffic.

The area of Chapel, Trumbull, Main Street, and Pearl need more local restaurants/local stores/chain stores.

Art and murals on buildings/walls around the City. Have local taggers and artist submit work to the city.

Development around Yard Goat stadium with some high end shops.

More police presence and sub stations.

Improve funding to improve Hartford public school system.

Increase in property tax after 2 years for vacant building owners and decrease for 2 years for property owners with new tenants. 4 year property tax decrease for current land owners with tenants.

Big cities are doing it. Get Hartford Healthcare on board. Build research lab. Work with campuses in Hartford to create programs can share at the facility that focus on biotech and biomed like nano technology. Build a park within the campus for the public to use.
