Its 6 days away, Im not worried about it for us yet.
Just talked to my buddy who teaches meteorology at a local university... he's usually not one to incite fear but basically said everyone from Miami, FL to Portland, Maine should keep a close eye because if/wherever it hits, it can be big..

ALL i want is a soaking rain!

That's what I'm hoping (and think) will happen. Admittedly, though, the only thing I know about weather is that it's a sticky on this forum.

October 9, 2016 STORM UPDATE::

You guys ready?

Since Sunday night models have shifted West because the Atlantic ridge is stronger than thought and poking Westward which means the track is closer to us.

This wont be a Sandy... but could be a decent storm that will bring winds and a lot of rain. Still early for details but the track is becoming more apparent... Almost riding the Florida beaches, curves and hits Carolinas, then Northeast up the coast.

Would either be Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

What sort of strength do you think it'll hit the northeast at, provided it does? Seems it'll hit the Carolinas at about a Category 2. NOAA put it there at 2 AM.

Seems the new system might keep it along the coast, wondering if that strengthens too.

All the local news stations keep passing this one off as a potential non-threat. But even a heavy amount of rain can be cause for alarm. Based on the current path and the models seeming to agree with a coastline trip all the way up the eastern seaboard to us I am doing my diligence today and taking inventory. This evening will consist of topping off the fuel cans, test starting the generator, battery/candle/flashlight checkup, and an extra pipe for one of my gutters.

If it gets later in the week and it looks worse then I will work on furniture and other items but at least we wont have to venture out to get anything. Also bread and milk! lol just shopped this weekend and we do it in 3 week intervals so I'm good.

11am Update... Sound the Alarms?

They are now thinking it will be a Hurricane off the NJ coast Sunday morning. Notice the cone. Still can go OTS or right over land. Not comfortable saying until tomorrow. Still can change.

And he has a dancing partner right now
