While everything is going to go dormant soon, young trees and plants are feeling the effects of this drought now. My grass is green without watering which is crazy. But I'm hearing wells are drying up now..

In 4 days Bridgeport will be in the 4th longest streak of not getting 2 inches of rain in 1 day (midnight to midnight). This is feeling unsual for sure. Usually we are sick of the rains after couple months of dryness!

Hartford needs another month of no 2" but records back to 1905 so being 5th spot is impressive.

BDR will almost certainly get to #3 but not sure beyond that. I don't think Saturday's rains will be 2+" and no other rain in immediate sight!

Completely unrelated to the tropics:

Camb, I think it was you who, a few years ago, talked a lot about animal habits before a bad winter (squirrels scrambling to get way more food than usual, dog shedding more than usual, etc). The last few weeks I'm noticing my 2 cats eating way more than is typical. They are free-feeders, but they have both been eating everything given to them for the first time in 3 years, and have been begging for more.

I"m preparing for the worst winter, personally. D:

To me it seems like squirrels are way more active this year then last. Almost in a frenzy.

Yes on the squirrels. Last yr they were slow moving and in no rush and not burying. Last 2 weeks they have been burying like crazy. Im litterally watching them go back and forth from my Oak to the ground burying. Theres a lot of holes everywhere.

Btw.. something was falling from the sky this afternoon. Thanks You Matthew and front. I'll take the 10 drops you gave me so far.

I hope you are outside enjoying this Cambium. Was sprinkling all day on the water today and just drove home in a real rain storm, sometimes heavy but mostly moderate, either way it's the water you've been looking for!!
