So sun comes out and Bridgeport jumps to near 80°? They haven't been above 70 since those hot days last week.

What? No low 70s allowed this month?

Stayed overnight here in Philadelphia. Here, they keep mentioning a "shortwave" system coming from the Midwest that increases the threat for showers by the afternoon. At least that's what WPVI-TV (ABC) channel 6 called it on their Action News production.

Yup..changes made to being more cloudy but the sun should come out today. Might not be a full sunny day but I just wanna see a brighter surface and some blue up there!

Tomorrow more cloudy than today

.SYNOPSIS...
Multiple weak waves of low pressure pass to the south through
Monday, as high pressure gradually builds down from southeastern
Canada. This high retreats to the northeast Monday night. A
series of weak fronts or troughs of low pressure cross the area
Tuesday through Thursday. Weak high pressure then builds in
through Friday, as a front stalls to the south of Long Island.

Made minor changes this update to reflect the latest trends in
observations and guidance. The forecast appears on track.

Hi-res models indicate that a convective complex currently over
ohio passes just to the SW/S of the area this afternoon
(consistent with trajectory of mean 850-500 hPa flow). Do have
slight chance pops over NYC metro late this afternoon in case
convection strays a bit farther to the NE than currently
progged, but would not be surprised if entire area stayed dry
today as northern stream shortwave ridging builds to the north.

Highs today should be near normal, with some sun expected this
afternoon, leaned towards warm edge of guidance.

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM SUNDAY/...
Northern stream 850-500 hPa ridging builds in tonight, as
onshore flow sets up below 900 hPa. Could end up seeing some
patchy drizzle late tonight/into early Sunday morning as a
result. Lows tonight should be a few degrees above normal.

The aforementioned ridge axis transits over the area Sunday,
with moisture trapped under the subsidence inversion making for
a mostly cloudy day. Given expected cloud cover and onshore
flow, did cut back on highs to around 5-10 degrees below normal.
this was based on blending NAM/ECWMF 2-meter temperatures in
with MET/ECS guidance and a mix down from 975-925 hPa per BUFKIT
soundings.

Looking east to the tops of the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia at or near local sunrise of 5:36 AM or so:

By 9:20 AM, the clouds were overtaking from the west:

It's 69 here, with a dew point of 54 after 9:20 AM or so. Yes, the days is a couple minutes shorter here than in Hartford. Should be expected, since I'm also further south, not just west. Of course the reverse would be the case in winter (a few minutes longer).

Nice confirmation there showing the clouds to the west as the Satellite showed.

Stunning day here as I take a break... Looks like those in Western CT are the lucky ones!

Feel bad for those under that strip of clouds in MA, RI and CT.

7:15-11:15am loop. Not much rain on map except entering Missouri and Iowa and scattered pop ups in PA. Also looks like my luck will be ending soon.

Well, that was fun. 4 hours of sun today. That makes the sun shining for 7 hours in last 137 hours (5.7 days)

Those areas of light showers are moving SE so no threat to us unless something develops more in Hudson Valley
