3.certified engineer
4.Worker (CNC-Turner)
I think I understand. I am an artist and musician but to my very limited knowledge about your field that looks like an airplane part. It looks like you might be working for a place like Pratt & Whitney or a similar company. It looks like a level 4 worker at Pratt & Whitney makes about $45,000. If you have higher qualifications I bet you would make more. I have a hunch you will not only be fine but will do very well.

If it is $32 thousand a year, don't come. I made more than that in my first job after college 30 years ago, and it wasn't great then. It is nowhere near enough nowadays. 45 thousand is okay for a single person here without expensive tastes, but you would be amazed at how fast it goes, with taxes, rent, car and insurance, utilities, cell phone, etc. I don't think it's worth moving for 45k. Maybe for 60k if you are single. But you won't have a lot of disposable income, just comfortably enough at 60k.

Really?

My maternal great grand parents came to this country (specifically CT) without a dime in their pockets and no jobs. In their lifetimes they opened up a business and became wealthy. Their children took over the business and became millionaires. My paternal grandfather came to this county (first Bridgeport CT then moved to Stamford) without a dime either but had confidence in this artistic abilities and was a successful business owner also as was his son (my dad).

The US is still the land of opportunity and people are still trying to get in without jobs. The OP is coming to this area with technical skills which are in high demand and a job. You have no idea where he might end up. My good friends dad was an engineer at Pitney Bowes and he ended up being a Vice President by the time he retired.

It might be better if you tell everyone what the exact job title/company you are looking at in the states. People may be able to tell you a more accurate salary based off that.

I'd like to know how much money I have to make to live "comfortably" in Hartford? I'd need a 2 room apartment /safe place to live. There's no point in living in Hartford and not earn enough money.

If i dont get the salary to live "comfortably" i Hartford than can i stay in germany.
