This is true. NoPo is very different than SoPo. Same with Belle Haven and Greenwich proper.

There is little to no shopping or entertainment (it does have Brownstone Adventure Park and a couple of golf courses though). There are some nice old buildings along Main Street but many are kind of run down. Route 66 is basically a strip of tired strip type buildings with a mish mash of styles. Anyway it is not a town I think would be rated that high overall. Jay
As an out of stater making house-hunting visits to Fairfield (and Westport) it is difficult to assess because Fairfield is quite large. Is Southport considered among the top "neighborhoods" in Fairfield? A related question, we like towns with a "community" feel--Ridgewood in NJ for any that know of that town is what we would consider "community" feeling. The sense I get from Fairfield is that some parts may have that feel, some others are quite rural. Anyone (Jay?) with some specific "neighborhoods" to point to would be most appreciated.

I'd say Greenfield Hill and Southport are the most affluent in FF.
Westport has neighborhoods too, but most carry similar income levels, aside from some parts of Saugatuck.

Lol, this is too true. Certain Greenwich "towns" are clubbable (Belle Haven, Riverside), while others are not (Byram, Cos Cobb).

They are all different tax jurisdictions - have their own budgets.

Southport is the premier neighborhood in Fairfield, top of the food chain, particularly Southport proper near the harbor and waterfront. Overall Fairfield is a very large 60K+ town and doesn't really have the small community feel to it.
Ridgewood NJ reminds me more of Ridgefield CT and New Canaan with the nice downtown and more upscale than huge Fairfield.
