Map of snow totals. Figured Philly Suburbs got a little more but wow at West Virginia

Thanks Cambium for that snowfall total map!

I thought that "you guys" were going to get a bit more snowfall.

The Toms River, NJ area (was in that area on Friday) and a few parts east of there where yesterday you noted that heavier snow band - makes sense.

I'm south of the 1" - 2" in NJ - very little left on the ground as well as grassy areas.

Both about the same. Sunday (today) couple degrees "warmer" than Monday.

Are you guys hanging in there ok? This is pretty intense duration. Hope everyone is healthy or not sick.

Todays forecast highs.
Trying to factor which day will have the strongest wind chill factor to avoid running that day.
Weather app says it's about -6 out right now.

Bridgeport has 3 days in a row staying under 23°. Longest streak on record was 5 in 1979. Looks like we're about to break that. Forecast is another 3 days under.

Upper 20s will be our 2 day break then back down we go.

Last time we were in the 30s was Christmas.

With wind chill weather app is saying it feels like -9 and wind speeds around 15mph. Opted to exercise in today, but tomorrow wind doesn't look as strong.

Was -6 this morning I go by “real feel”. Used a leaf blower for the snow since it was so cold and dry it easily cleared. Waiting on the Thursday forecast.

Thursday I don't get that "wow" feeling. I do think it will snow though. Maybe 3-5"?? Will know better tomorrow afternoon

Wind Chill Advisories are up for CT...and pretty much most of the Eastern Half of U.S. lol

3-5” with this cold is still enough for problems. Especially when you factor the roads are pretty crunchy and icy still. Seems like either way it will be a work from home.

I did some lookups on OKX's site for New Year's Eve and Day, their chart uses Central Park for the central location and the long record. This is truly historic for both holidays.

1) Unfortunately, because it was 21 at midnight, that was the high for today, although after bottoming out at 13 at 10am it had not gone above 15 since (and is 14 now). Since it doesn't look to get warmer after dark, this will almost definitely break the 15 in 1996 for the 3rd coldest Times Square ball drop (goes back to 1907, coldest is 1 degree in 1917 not likely to get there) and we have a shot at this being the 2nd coldest (currently 11 in 1962). Had the low stayed below 20, this would've been the first time on New Years Eve since 1962. The only other times it's ever happened on New Year's Eve is 100 years ago in 1917 (when the high was an almost unfathomable 6) and 1880

2) Forecast low in NYC for tomorrow is 8, that would make it the first time since 1918 (yes, 100 years ago!) that a single-digit low temperature occurred there on New Year's Day (in 1918 it was -4, the only subzero in NYC on New Years). It only happened 2 times before that, in 1881 and 1899. This is likely to happen.

3) Forecast high in NYC tomorrow is 19. That too would be the first high below 20 on New Year's in 100 years! And it also only happened twice before that, again in 1881 and 1899. This will be a close call. 1899's is really interesting as the day before (NYE 1898) had a high of 53 but a low of 18 and the high of 18 on NYD 1899 probably occurred at midnight. I also found out that they were up to 53 degrees again by Jan 5 but back into the single numbers on the 10th and 11th (and if you look up Feb. 1899 it was a very historic month with major snowfalls not seen before or since in Houston, New Orleans and Tampa!)

4) Finally, if that Euro for next Sunday Brian26 showed proves correct (I couldn't tell if that was a -8 or a -3 for NYC, but either way), it would be the coldest low temperature for any date in NYC since February 15, 1943 (it was -8 then but it has not been less than -2 since then, in fact after that date it was not below zero again until Feb 2, 1961, which was the longest such stretch without one ever until the most recent 22 year run of no subzeros from Jan 19, 1994 to Feb 14, 2016 (and LGA, JFK, and EWR did not go subzero on that day in 2016 so they still have gone 23 years without one.....wonder if that will get broken next Sunday))....somehow I'm betting against this one, without going into theories and politics for whatever reason it seems hard to get below zero in NYC in the last 50+ years and virtually impossible to get past -2.....even on Jan 21, 1985 when many places in the South and nearby cities like Newark, Philly and DC got a lot colder than that it was only -2 and it couldn't even get subzero in NYC during Feb. 2015. My guess is it goes very low single numbers or maybe 0 or -1.

Just wow.....watching the ball drop on channel 7 tonight should be interesting!
