11am: 0.7" of snow melted to 0.03" liquid. Thats 23:1 ratios. Temp 18°.

Doesn't take much liquid to produce 3" today. Wow.

Nice shot Cam! Love the wood pile as well.

Going to be a white landscape for awhile as well. Enjoy it!

No end in sight yet. It looks like it actually is going to get colder.

You can bet on it now with a fresh snowpack. Wow this is nuts. Long Island Sound must be mid 30s now?

1pm:

1.5" snow melted to 0.08" liquid. That's 19:1 ratios. Slightly lower than this morning.

A lot of people out and about I forgot tomorrow was NYE. They are food shopping, I figured it wasn't because of 2" of snow. lol

Some longer range forecasts (and I don't mean that super long one that Accuweather does) has it finally going a little above freezing on the 8th (a week from Monday) and warming a bit from there.

Yesterday they all but threw next Thursday's snow out, NWS was even showing "sunny and cold" in the forecasts. Now it's back to 30% chance. We'll see I guess....

'NOW' its looking like winter. I've been keeping track of my snow depth each day at 7am. This should be fun now.

Yeah, I think the warmth at the end of the tunnel is hinting after the 8th of January. Maybe we'll actually get back to normal.

Last night all models shifted west with the big coastal storm. This morning status quo. Euro gives Nantucket over a foot of snow but NYC just 1-2 inches. It's that close.

December 6th we weren't supposed to get anything. December 7th models started shifting west with the coastal storm. December 9th we had a little 3-6" snow event. We'll see.

When will the Cold End?

There's been a warm light at the end of this tunnel after January 7th. But because its over 7 days away it's been changing results so who knows.

Latest GFS for Hartford says that light is very dim and not so warm.

Sorry for the Celsius numbers. Link to a conversion here. Or just note the negative numbers = below freezing. lol
