Kent, NY was an EF2 with 110mph winds 100 yard path

Macroburst? I didn't even know there was such a thing! What makes it different from a microburst?

Also, was this line considered a derecho?

I also noticed the Baltimore/Washington corridor had their own nasty line of severe weather a day before us.

Yeah, usually we hear of microbursts...macro is just a bigger version of it..

they probably didnt see trees down in multiple directions so eliminated a funnel/tornado there.. Falling in same direction is more a burst type of event.

Think of it like the thunderstorm is spitting down and all that force is hitting the ground. Big push of wind.

Yup.. if that HP over the Atlantic was 500 miles west more, we would be hitting 80s everyday with no rain.
