Ahh... now I remember... that was the best winter ever.
Distinctly remember playing a "shoveling support role" digging tunnels for the sleigh shovel to dump snow in... piles were 6-8 feet tall and I created "storage" for snow. Fun times to have the snow towering over me .

Might've been more fun if I had known more about weather earlier

I almost broke down and bought a snow blower because I couldnt throw over the 6ft piles anymore. Still havent yet.

I just started learning how the models picked up these storms from a week out so I was new to it at the time but I had a couple dedicated threads for then here.

Pics probably broken up though.

GFS12z says 7 storms to track next 2 weeks including todays off the coast of Maine. Active Pattern! Wow.
4 of those storms are off NY coast.

The 2nd piece after Saturdays coastal storm looks so interesting. Like a clipper coming down and blowing up into a coastal. If it was December we be talking snowstorm! Funny not seeing it drag enough cold air this time of yr.

I live in Northern NJ but I was hoping someone would help me with a few questions
What is the definition of the hard frost or killing frost?
How would I find out if it happened or when it will happen for my area?
Thanks in advance!

The new d-word monitor map is out. None showing for southern New England. Lingering bits in northern VT and northern ME. The data doesn't reflect the rain and snow which fell into Wednesday morning for those areas.

Is it looking any better for Saturday?

Here it comes.

Future loop 2pm today to 8am Monday.

Rain starts tonight.
Winds pick up in the morning and rain gets heavy at times.
Rain should end after sunset
Watch the next piece of rain hit us on Monday.

And yes, NAM showing snow and ice storm for Vermont tomorrow. Last minute forecast change for them?
