We just recently moved to new canaan and my husband has to commute to NYC. There is a one year waiting list for parking in South Norwalk and the New Canaan line involves a transfer at Stamford. Anyone have any suggestions as to alternative lines to use? Noroton Heights in Darien seems okay but don't know if you need to be a resident to park there and how much parking is. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The Stamford transfer really isn't all that bad. They schedule the trains so the folks from New Canaan walk off of their train and right across the platform into the next.

I commute from Springdale, which is along the New Canaan Branch, to NYC. The transfer is REALLY easy, and in some cases, there isn't a transfer at all. There are a few direct trains to New Canaan. It's a very easy commute.

Parking is $3/day (a book of 10 vouchers for $30) at both Noroton Heights and Darien stations.

Thanks for the replies. Eb164, do you need to be a Darien resident to park at Noroton or Darien stations?

Great! One last question for you, Is it difficult to get a parking spot on the 5:56 a.m. train?
