Are you looking for outdoor activities? There are other ways to fight boredom if that’s the concern.

Movies
Musical performances
Restaurants
Theater
Hiking
Bowling
Museums
Aquariums
Go somewhere that has snow (VT, NH, ME, especially the mountains)

For toddlers though.

And this isn’t like a short-term problem these recent years. This is 7 months of snowless winter and 3 months of oppressive humidity. This weather is horrible and i mean horrible for people who like 4 seasons and snowfall. Not just people who want warm weather. How can anyone like this?

Can we just establish it’s not an ideal place (where we live) to be anymore (used to be), but now if you must live here there’s some things to make it a little less lousy. And it’s the same list as living anywhere that’s lame.

Luckily when living in a lousy place the cost of living makes it affordable or else nobody would go there, you’d become the #3 place of people leaving ....

Again, this isn’t what do you do on a rainy day dilemma? This is what do you do until Memorial Day weekend? Then after that there’s no light on the other end of the tunnel as look what August 2017 weather was like.

Yard darts? Those have been illegal for years.

For the 3rd most expensive state to live in and so few days in an entire year for your kids to be able to play outside, if we don’t have more indoor recreational things soon, what’s here for families with active young kids? Think about it.

Why can't your kids play outside? When I was growing up we played outside even when the temperatures were below zero or above 90 degrees or if it was snowing, raining, windy etc. Be a self starter and create your own fun and entertainment.

I don't think you can blame CT for the weather. Some years are colder and snowier than others. Perhaps a call to Simon Bar Sinister asking him to bring his Snow Gun could result in a snowier environment? Simon says, Go Snow. Or possibly getting involved with a local organization that specializes in weather modification?

Currently I live in the Cincinnati area and they don't get winters like New England. If you think you are lacking a real winter climate there, just try moving further south.

I have been hiking in weather like this with my LO since before he turned 3.

But otherwise we've spent plenty of time at our town's library, Kidcity in Middletown, the Children's Museum in West Hartford, Connecticut Science Center, Kidsplay in Torrington, Children's Movement Center in New Milford, Tot Town in Brookfield, the Norwalk aquarium, Sky Zone in Bethel or Wallingford, Bounce in Danbury, and I could go on...
