Very true. I only provided a country I’m personally familiar with. But I think you’ll find that people everywhere, rich or poor, will find ways to get high if they are so inclined. Khat in Africa, heroin in Afghanistan, meth in West Virginia, cocaine in Stamford. It’s foolish to assume it’s only the US whether inner city Hartford or wealthy enclaves like FFC. The poor will get high if they want to as will the wealthy. Only difference is the quality of drug they can afford.

There are big differences between various towns in Fairfield County. We lived in Redding for many years and it is a paradise; like a piece of Vermont dropped into FF county. Very rural, no development to speak of, yet a short drive to whatever you want. Would love to return someday.

My brother is a musician and he used to play at the Redding Roadhouse years ago. One thing that I thought about Redding is that they are wealthy but all the people I would meet at the Redding Roadhouse were really nice and didn't wear their money on their sleeve....they didn't have airs about them.
