New Haven is a tough one to quantify because of all the transient population with Yale/colleges and the hospital.

Milford is 54781.

Stamford will continue to grow for sure. The city's land area is also larger than Bridgeport and New Haven as well.

These might change a bit since, after downloading the data, I see that the 2020 estimate had CT declining in population while we actually slightly gained. Since Stamford and NH are so close in population I wouldn't say the matter is settled yet.

The next census will show CT gain population by 1% but Bridgeport for example more moving out than moving so there net loss.

Does it need to be? Isn't it crowded enough.
When I'm driving in Stamford I feel like I'm on Santa Monica Blvd.
I was in the Scalzi Park area a couple of weekends ago. It literally took about 20 minutes just to get back to 95. A Saturday! I could have jogged faster.

I always forget how big the coastal towns are..... But look at that, Waterbury continues to lose people. It's a shame, I remember when it was a great city.

Stamford might as well be state unofficial most populated city it have way more foot and car traffic than Bridgeport.

Great point. If that's the case, Fairfield cracks the top 10 with FU and SHU

Can't argue that. New Haven has it's share too though I'm not up there enough to quantify.
I was at a wedding up in DT Hartford a couple of years ago on a beautiful Saturday evening. It was eerily quiet. Restaurants were closed. Did they foresee a pandemic?

Just so everyone knows the census is intended to count college kids at the place where they go to school (even in 2020). So no, Fairfield doesn't crack the top 10 based on that. In fact that means there are only 50,000 "full time" residents
