Been awhile since CT has had a direct hit. Irene hit Westchester and Sandy hit NJ. This could be a big event for CT if it materializes. All eyes on Eversource.

As I understand, left of eye is more rain and right is more wind, yeah?

Irene actually did more damage in Milford.

Now you know it's official... the storm's got its own thread.

Anyone checking out the 18Z NAM??? That would be devastating for the coastline between Norwalk and Guilford. 975 mb storm making landfall in Milford

If you don't count Sandy. Also Isais last year made us lose power for four days.

I'm afraid this is going be much more memorable than Isaias though...

My understanding is the right side of the storm is always more of both, but I know next to nothing about meteorology.

East side. Northeast side is the strongest.

Also a concern is the stop and turn. That takes force. It's gonna stop over CT and turn Northeast and head out

Edit: Looks like it wont "stop" and make a right based on latest track

It depends by storm, but due to forward movement of the system and the coriolis effect, Stylo's observation is usually right. It's actually especially true this far north (where the coriolis effect is stronger)

Current image and latest NHC track.

Has Henri a Cat 1 hitting Eastern Long island Sunday afternoon and into central CT.

At least it'll be a Sunday.

Eastern half of CT needs to be ready. All of CT but Eastern half for sure. Especially with the foot of rain we got in July. Saturated grounds.
