I'd suggest you look at Fairfield. It's an amazingly safe and quiet suburb just outside of Bridgeport--with some of the best public schools--anywhere in CT.

Default Bridgeport neighborhoods

To people who say Black Rock is the only nice neighborhood in Bridgeport, they really do not know the city. There are many nice neighborhoods including (but not limited to) Brooklawn, North End, the area around Beardsley Park and the Success Park/Bullard Havens area. Unlike the majority of its Suburban neighbors, Fairfield, Westport, Trumbull and Easton, Bridgeport is culturally and racially diverse. The people in Bridgeport accept you for what you and not what you have. I will agree the school system needs improvement and there has been allot of corruption in its political system. But all in all its a very nice place to live. I've always wondered if people think its so wonderful to live in the Fairfield county suburbs is so safe and great, why do they roll up the sidewalks everynight at 7pm
