Well folks, we're here and we're getting snow. Thats twice now I have given heads up close to 2 weeks in advance about a "possible" snow event.

First time I said "around" Christmas. It snowed the 20th.

This time it was to the day.

HAPPY NEW YEAR. LOOKS LIKE I'M GETTING 4 INCHES OF SNOW.

P.S - JUST LIKE WITH HURRICANES, SO MANY FACTORS COME INTO PLAY AND SO MANY CHANGES ARE MADE UNTIL THE DAY COMES.

BUT APPRECIATE THE FACT WE ALL TRACKED THIS FROM PRACTICALLY 2 WEEKS AGO.

The intensity of the storm is not as strong as it originally was and it picked up speed. But the cold air is winning the battle hence the snow for the morning hours only.

I swear I'm not making this up and it's not really funny, but this morning I was supposed to attend in northern Westchester the funeral of a woman who last name was Snow (she was the co-owner of a place I worked at for a long time). But it was too slow going (and a 3 car accident in front of my condo) and I wasn't going to get there in time......strange coincidence, eh?

I wouldn't get too worked up...the low will pass very quickly to the east today: Most places in the Tri-State area will get a dusting to maybe 3 inches in some inland areas. After that, it should stay cold, but sunny and dry for the next week.

If only the hype coming from media outlets like the Weather Channel and AccWeather matched the events - lol. But this is the East Coast...everything is hyped.

Yeapp...storm moved out quick! Call it lucky or whatever but it could have been disaster if it stalled or slowed down.

Accidents ALL OVER THE PLACE!! Cars hitting eachother on Merrit ending up in the woods. Its like it went from being ok to ALL ICE all of a sudden. 11 cars involved.

I get off 27 in Rye Brook ...No roads salted AT ALL this morning.... Had they listened to me last week they would have prepared. LOL

I crossed to I-95 to head back home AND IT WAS WORSE! I-95 was a sheet of ice! SHEET.

Hope nobody got seriously injured today.

Wow, nice pictures! There was a 3 car accident in front of my home, I'm glad I didn't go out. Amazingly, it has stopped here and everything's plowed now.

Driving to work this morning, there was a car smashed at both ends on I-290 in Worcester near College Square. It ended up facing nose out towards traffic, trunk in guardrail.

Apparently on both sides of the line, nobody bothered to plow or salt until after the storm blew by.

It was funny how on Dick Clark/Ryan Seacrest last night they were insisting it was raining at the ball drop when in certain lights you could clearly see snow (albeit not sticking at all) and the weather map on the channel 7 news at 11 clearly showed white (snow), not even the pink (mix) over Manhattan.

We got a little more snow last night. The roads were a little slippery when I was driving home.
