It was Phoenix 's Second earliest date on record to hit 100 degrees. I'm curious what other spots have hit it and when this year... If you can find data, please post and provide source. Thanks.

I feel bad for the Mid Section of country right now. All the severe stuff is coming until the middle of the night. There's been Tornados and hail already. Hail the size of softballs!

Last year April 2010 was warmest on record for Sea and Land of Planet Earth.

During LaNina years of 2006, 2008 we only made it to 80s and 90s in April a couple of days.. We are in LaNina this year.

So I dont think we'll hit 90's till July this year and I dont think we'll have mid 80s (more than 2 days straight) until June...

April 2010
Bridgeport, CT ... Days above 70 were:

April 7: 85
April 8: 80
April 11: 72
April 15: 71
April 30: 77

Wow, fairly bold predictions! Of course I would love a cool May & June compared to last year's (relative) inferno. Hope you're right.

Some Winter Storm Warnings behind the cold front. 5-10 inches in elevations above 4500 feet. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of flakes in Connecticut tomorrow night.

West of Nashville,Teneesee just clocked a wind gust to 126mph with the T-Cell that just passed.

Needles, California hit 100 last Friday. Palm Springs hit 103 the same day. Death Valley hit 100 on March 31st.

A friend of mine in Needles told me it was 100, as I told her it was snowing. We both found the other's comment to be funny.

Wow.. Thank you.. I thought it sounded funny as the "first" one end of March... I think I heard it on the radio... Thanks for correcting it.

Anyone following the severe storms today?? Apparently there is extensive damage in many states and 2 deaths from just todays storms and Tornados. Reminds me of my chart.. More damage and deaths happen during the Heat season.

‎2,844 severe reports this year vs. 713 last year

Current observation map as of 11am..

After the Rain comes the snow. The temp difference behind the front is steep. Its foggy over CT right now. Raining in NY/NJ, Snowing in PA right now. Snow in April?

Lets see if the moisture can make it all the way to us.

So far past 3 storms have cut the totals in half if not more... Something breaking the system apart before it gets to us. We were supposed to get an inch out of this at least. Points South and West got over an inch.
