this is my speed at 8:49pm Monday. I am more than happy with this speed. I guess there is no point in me getting the 3.0.

thanks for the input.

thanks for the input.
I'm paying $29.99/mo with Comcast using 3.0 and and have averaged 80/10. Under 2.0 I had your speed. Keep in mind as websites get more graphic intensive, you're going to wish you did upgrade.

so you are saying that I can downgrade my plan and upgrade my modem and end up with better speed for less cost? that's a proposition I would be interested in.

the way I took njbest's post was that it wouldn't help me with speed. but saving money is more important to me than speed anyway. so id love to downgrade the plan.

I don't think you have yet to tell us what speed you're paying for. If you're paying for 25Mb switching to a Docsis 3 will gain you nothing.

i just checked comcast to see what "performance" is and it says 25mbps.

based on the price pruzhany said he is paying, it seemd to me like he is paying for the same 25 mbps but averaged 80/10 (which i took as 80mbps.

He may be getting a discount on a package, no way your going to get 80 down on the 25 package, Docsis 3 or no.

Anyone who has Comcast knows to call the 800# for promotional pricing every year. Do you really think there are people who actually pay "Menu Price"? I've never paid Menu Price in close to 20 yrs on Comcast. If I did I'd be paying over $300/mo instead of the $160 total I pay now (Internet, Cable (1000 channels, all movie channels, 3 DVRs, All HD, everything)). That included the modem/router/wireless they supply to me.

Maybe the OPs market is different, but I haven't seen 20/5 in a very long time and I live in a Rural county fwiw.

It definitely does not say 25mbps. If it does, it's obviously an error.

The only way a DOCSIS 3.0 modem will help you is if you were getting speeds lower than you were paying for due to congestion... or if you were on a higher tier of service.

That's just lovely, but we aren't discussing price, we're discussing speed.
