Even if her mother would allow it, which I highly doubt she would, I think they are too broken down at this point. She has not had any nutrition for over 3 weeks. The body takes what it needs from other body tissues at that point.
Above when you mention the "her quality of life will be poor, theirs will suffer as well." The teen is already brain dead with systems and organs that haven't had nutrition for three weeks.
I'm well aware that she's dead. "Quality of life" is simply another way of acknowledging her existence without being tacky.
"I said, 'hey Jahi,' and she moved her legs and her arms," Chatman said. "Heart's beating good, she's warm, and she looks beautiful. This is the best glow I've ever seen she's had.
When asked if she thinks the teen understands what's happening, Chatman said, "Yes I do. I know she does!"
I saw the Grandmother on the news also. I looked for the video and could not find one. I did find the Grandmother doing an interview with Jane Valez Mitchell. It was interesting. Grandma: 'Just pray for Jahi, please' - YouTube
The saddest part is that Jahi's organs could have been used to give someone else or multiple people the gift of life ... now that is no longer possible.
I wonder, how does the judge get away with all these absurdly ridiculous rulings? How does he sleep at night knowing that he is furthering one of the saddest spectacles I have ever heard of?
Let us also keep in mind that the family is being supported by the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network. Who knows, at this point, what all voices are whispering in their ears? Telling them what they want to hear and encouraging them to go down this path.
The decision seems easy to us.
For the family ~ not so much. I hope that no one is giving them false hope and poor advice.

I think it is obvious that the mother is being given false hope and bad advice. I suspect the bad advice is coming from a grandmother who thinks she knows more about medicine than she does and a lawyer who sees money.
