LOL! I see we have a social Darwinist in our midst.

Oh right ... because every last Democrat on the planet spells "bait" wrong.

Besides, I can play that game too. Watch this:

"I guess the Repubs aren't much for proper punctuation considering you're not supposed to plop a period down in the middle of a sentence."

Yeah, my advice is if you're going to criticize someone's spelling or grammar, don't be stupid enough to make a spelling or grammar mistake while doing it.

I trust that is NOT an over-arcing Republican trait?

Actually, approval ratings for Democrats are at all-time lows. More ominously, they are at all-time lows among the youngest voters, not to mention losing good bit of ground among women and Latinos.

Yes, the party of the president often loses ground in the mid-terms. But the hemorrhaging of seats in the past three elections has been striking and without real precedent in modern elections.

None of which matters comes the general election, which consists of different voting blocks. If anything, this election is giving the GOP a false sense of security over the fact that the country is moving left.

In order for the Republicans to keep some of the young/women/Latinos, they actually have to do something good for them. I don't know any Democrat who is sweating over that.

Now, the corrupting of the congressional district to favor Republicans. That's is what the Dems should be doing something about.

The democrats were not expecting such a result of this election. This means if Hillary runs in 2016 she has to dig herself out of a huge hole. America rejected Obama plain and simple and Hillary was part of the administration
My biggest concern is nature-hating Republicans gaining more control in Congress to push their science-denying, pro-pollution agenda. They are greedy, moral criminals who think the ability to make money off a resource is its sole value in the universe.

For example, a Creationist oil-junkie like James Inhofe has no business running the Environment and Public Works committee. He originally went to Washington because he didn't like pollution controls in his redneck state. Fox guarding chicken coop.

I think both parties are a throwback, a bad one at that, and need to be totally rehauled/changed, along with perhaps some of the constitution......what we have now sure as hell is not working..

Disappointed----yea. Freaking out----no.

There were a number of good things at the state and local level.

The personhood bills got trounced. Minimum wage increases in red states. Legal use of personal/recreational use of marijuana. Billions of dollars in additional taxes at state and local level for air, water and green space initiatives. Reducing penalties on personal drug use. Anti corruption law in Fla. Fracking ban in Denton Texas of all places. Extended firearm background checks in Washington. Here in Michigan, the attempt by the Repub legislator to take over the wolf hunt and potentially other hunts, to turn it into a economic/political effort was soundly defeated. Wolf hunts properly stay as a conservation effort under the jurisdiction of the Dept of Natural Resources. Anti-discrimination ordinances were also passed.

Some of these things are in "lefty" states, but many were not. And I honestly believe that there is going to be a degree of cooperation on both sides as their respective longterm interests are at stake as whomever comes across as the adult will probably win in 2016.

It is often stated that the US electorate is fiscally conservative, yet socially slightly left of center.

It took a Republican to get us out of Vietnam. But, I suspect you are referring to policy, so how about the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Spin, spin, spin.

Personally, I find both the Democrats and Republicans loathsome. However, I never cease to be amazed at the Democratic Party's knack for total self-deception.
