Except his words didn't actually "incite" a riot.. there was rioting before he spoke, and there's no reason to believe that anyone who was actually there when he spoke participated in any rioting.
But yeah, who needs that pesky constitution anyway..
Mr. Head's statements are not, given the situation and context, constitutionally protected free speech.
My mother sent me to my grandmother's house when I was 9 years old and we didn't reunite until I was 12. I had no idea that it might have happened because I was 'out of control'.
At the time, there was some indication that it was for my own welfare since my mother was nuts, abusing valium and other drugs, banging new boyfriends and not functioning like a parent.
Now, decades later: I am definitely out of control, although more by choice than circumstance.

Sorry you had a ''bad'' childhood but it sounds like you've had a long one as well.
So America's laws should be held hostage because of the fear of riots?
Not only that, but I'm confused about this whole "riot thing."
We were all "on watch" in case OJ was convicted of killing 2 white people...Now, we were on watch in case a white wasn't indicted for killing a black. If he had been indicted, we'd all be "on watch" again should he be acquitted.
Big whoop. Everybody has their opinion on this. And of course you admire him since he has the same opinion of you.
No, we admire him because he has the courage and intelligence to do something that 99% of his fellow blacks don't, which is stand up for what is right, regardless of race. For every Barkley there are thousands of black folks who blindly follow their race-baiting opportunist huckster "community organizers" and tow the race line, regardless of common sense and common decency.
If you want to act like an animal you'll be treated like an animal. Barkley is smart enough to realize that, which is why he dresses, acts, and thinks like a normal human being, unlike the multitudes hooting, hollering, and holding a no-good thug criminal up as a saint.
I just hope that after Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson pass away, there will be no one else from that school of thought to "take their places." From what I know about Martin Luther King, Jr., in no WAY would he have ever stood by what these two turned into. And they should well remember and recognize that and be ashamed.
The only people that I know of personally that say "the blacks" or "the black people" are not americans and english isn't their first language.
I was under the impression that all born and raised AMERICANS knew saying "the blacks" was offensive, but obviously not.
Thanks for that information.
Not good. If they convict his stepfather that will start more riots. Also, anybody that loses a family member will be angry and say things. And if people are angry if he is convicted then somebody could say something too. Where does it end?
