"But I know one thing: If we dismantle and limit the power of our policemen any more than we have already, then we’re going to have a lot of problems in this country. What do you do if someone pulls a gun on you or is robbing a store and you stop them? I don’t want to hear about this hands-up crap. That’s not what happened. I don’t know exactly what did happen, but I know that’s not what happened.
You have a problem with pro athletes expressing their first amendment right on their highest platform.....
....but you don't have a problem with a former athlete/coach and current public figure expressing his first amendment right on one of his highest platforms.

Gooooooooo figure.
First of all, this is not what the First Amendment is all about. The 1A says that the government may not restrict the right of self expression by the citizens. It says nothing about whether or not citizens may be critical of other citizens based on what they say or do.
That said, I fully support their rights of the Ram players to do what they did.
However, I note that in so doing they exposed themselves as idiots. This shouldn't be too surprising as we're talking about a group of pro football players.
The "hands up, don't shoot' meme has clearly been demonstrated to be a fiction and not at all what happened in Ferguson. I fully support everyone's right to continue perpetuate this fiction. For one thing, it helps the rest of us sort out those with at least half a brain from the rest of the crowd.

Pants up, don't loot.
I know what the First Amendment is all about.
That's not the point I was making, but thanks for playing.
People are throwing a fit for what those players did, because they don't agree with their opinion and vice versa. The 1A is only acceptable when their opinion is the same as yours.
Pants up, don't loot - that's not even catchy. Guess I can't be too surprised considering the source of said slogan.
A wealthy old white guy who lives in a multi-million $$ home in a gated community doesn't understand the problems faced by black / poor Americans?
What else is "news"?
Is water really "wet"?
/duh!
Yes, we definitely need more people like Mike. You know, someone who actually worked hard to get where he is. Someone who continued his education, contributed to society, etc. We dont have to work hard to pay for Mike Ditka. We dont have to send police to watch Mike and his neighborhood. We dont have to hear about Mike selling drugs to kids, or pulling drive by shootings on people because he doesnt like the neighborhood they live in or the colors theyre wearing.

Whose asking government to do anything. Its NFL that should be concerned with those representing their image.
