The father in law of the young mother says that she had extensive training in firearm use and safety. There is just no way to carry a loaded firearm safely, just as there is no way to keep a firearm in a home without the considerable risk of its being used in domestic violence or suicide, or being stolen.

Like I said before, irrational fear often turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy. But hey, the 2nd amendment clearly states they have the right to kill themselves and their families, so what the heck. Thinning of the herd.

Most people think a CWP course qualifies as "extensive"...

Think and do what you want. You live in a great state for your attitude. I'll think and do what I want.
I personally think it's shameful that you ask others to do things for you that you're refusing to do for yourself---but that's your right as an American tax payer.

While I don't agree with the reasoning of this person, they did seem to do a thorough job showing how Wal-Mart is indeed a "dangerous place". I think it has more to do with the kinds of shoppers at Wal-Mart , and the fact that Wal-Mart is open 24 hours, unlike most every other store they listed, than the fact that firearms are sold there.
(around here, you will see violence and police in the Wal-Mart parkinglots WAY MORE OFTEN than Target or Kroger. The Wal-Marts here just appeal more toward troublemakers it seems, and they are open 24 hours and have unlit (nearly) parkinglots, etc.)
Conversely, here is how it worked out in England when things went the OTHER way...
Here is how it worked out in Australia:
So, what facts do you have to back your opinion that "guns are the problem in America"? I'm not angry, and noone needs to be, I'm just looking for what you have to support your opinion. Emotions aren't really what matter here---facts do.
Why wasn't the safety on? I'm glad the child wasn't killed.
Hopefully the poor child won't remember accidentally killing his mother.
If there are siblings who were traumatized by the event, the child will no doubt be reminded of the offense.
