How are these Federales stoping the rain? HA!

The morons of big farming and their treasonous Republican friends apparently don't care what will occur if they keep pulling water out of the system.

Actually water levels had been below the normal for the majority of the past 15 or so years. Just the last two years have been the bonus. Go to the 3rd line and zoom a lot.

They are not stopping the rain, they have stopped the storage of water and the diverting of water to farms.

I get that you think farming and growing food is a treasonous act, but most people like the food we grow and people like having jobs to feed their families.

On a side not, why do liberals turn everything to hate? People who want to farm are "morons" and Republicans are "treasonous". And people wonder why Washington has issues and who is causing distension.

Agreed---

Massive amounts of dredging were/are having to be done, not only for the "Lakers and Salties" but also for recreational use. Huge asset to the economies of 2 countries and 8(?) states.

When you start pumping water from one part of the country to another, you will run into the environmentalist's opposition again, due to the transmission of unwanted organisms, such as Zebra Mussels and the like. From what I understand the Great Lakes are rampant with such organisms brought in by ships from around the world.

This is why desalination projects would be the best answer for California.

There is another potential threat to the Great Lakes and it's ecosystem. Asian Carp. We are trying like hell to keep them out of the Great Lakes Basin. Those fish will decimate the ecosystem.

Desalination plants would seem to be CA's only answer to their problem. However, the stupid environmentalists stomp around and pout like children, upset that a rare sea bacteria might be harmed in the process, and they get their way. People are running out of water, agriculture is at risk of dying, and tons of jobs are at stake... but we gotta protect the sea life!!! Bozos.

My Way News - California governor orders mandatory water restrictions

My state (Tennessee) gets a lot of rain. Why don't states like mine go in the water business, that is, why don't they collect rain and sell it to California?
Or maybe they should not have created urban sprawl into desert areas? I say create rain catching systems on roof tops and other water conservation measures like that. I guess if you choose to live in dry areas you must learn how to conserve water.

Some day, someone will wake up and see that vast body of water, to the West. I thought science was working on that "little," project. Hmmm, there is a lot of water out there in the Pacific.

People and animals other than Large Farming Corporations rely on that water supply as well, but listening to these farming thugs cry you get the sense that the public water supply actually belongs to them, and that mean old President Obama is keeping it from them as some sort of punishment.

The source of all this is not President Obama or the Federal Government, rather it is because not enough precipitation is falling from the sky to support the amount of water the farmers need to run their operations at full blast while not risking turning the entire water supply into a great salt lake.
