Miraculously, the suspect survived. Ironically, the Police in Marana, Arizona, where the dashcam video was taken, claim that they saved the suspect's life. His lawyer, understandably, strongly disagrees.

Sounds like a great use of force and correct application of it to me...
So.... we now let armed people who fire guns in pursuits,,,, just what.. go?
Read the response of the first remark in the post.... he gets it right
Nothing to be outraged about here. This was a solid move by the police that likely saved the man's life, if not the lives of others as the man was firing a gun (likely stolen from Walmart) recklessly before being taken down.
Walking down the street with a loaded rifle = danger to society. Police did the right thing here. And I normally am critical of the police.
Police should also do the same to all NRA nuts who open carry.
.
Open carry is legal throughout much of the country. Simply walking down the street while openly carrying a rifle doesn't give the police any right to ram into you with their cruiser in states where open carry is legal. One such state is Arizona. This was a different situation as the man hit was identified as an armed robbery suspect who had fired rounds and was walking toward a heavily occupied area. But, let's get serious, the open carry NRA guys by and large aren't out there committing gun crimes, and yet you're advocating violence against them for doing nothing more than exercising their rights? Give me a break Take your anti-gun message elsewhere!

Agree
NRA open carry will in most if not all cases be legal use of a firearm and will most likely never result in any threat to the community. Juxtapose this to a whaco who was an active threat. Open carry NRA would have been the last line of defense ...so thanks to them for being good citizens
The use of deadly force justified.. the use of same is any manner which stopped the threat and minimizes risk to all... suspect got a 4000 bullet instead of a 1250 sec one.
Glad officer wasn't injured...
Mobile vehicle tactics have been used for years.. see Beverly hills Iranian riots against the shah. Lasd used first documented MVT against the violent crowd... it stopped them cold
Look for this tactic in the future...
AAA driving award... suspect alive...
