Yes.
That kinda thing can't be tolerated. He's lucky he didn't get shot down.
He may have wanted to land on the
lawn, but what if he had a different
payload than letters and he had different intentions?
He should be punished. He did something awesome that hurt no one and helped expose dangerous flaws in the defenses of the U.S. Capital against gyrocopter borne threats,
The gyrocopter pilot is lucky to be alive. There are various rumors about MANPAD missiles @ the White House, likely cut down Stingers. Had he flown directly @ the WH, the Secret Service (?) would have shot him down.
Yah, the restricted airspace is marked on all the maps, no flight plans can be filed to include the WH, Capitol, etc. - other than Marine 1, TMK. However well meaning, the gyro pilot knowingly violated restricted airspace. Of course he needs to be punished.
Yes he is lucky. Lindsey Graham wants to know why he wasn't shot down and thinks he should have been. He could have been a suicide bomber.
I also think it was a very poor attempt to make a political point regarding money and politics and the idiotic Supreme Court decision involving Citizen United (and I agree with him--it's disgusting). But, he didn't make his point at all--he just pissed off a lot of people.
An MSNBC poll this morning confirmed that 76% of poll responders said the gyrocopter pilot who flew through restricted airspace in Washington, D. C. and landed on the Capitol lawn yesterday should NOT be punished. What do you think?
Crazy world..but it is MSNBC viewrersThey should have shot him out of the sky...Our enemies have taken note...

Of course he should, if he broke the law.
