The flag represents treason, legal rapes and lynchings, oppression and hatred. The flag was not revered by certain people in the South until the 60s as FY to the civil rights movement. It was flown on government property because the oppressed did not have the power to prevent it. That flag was displayed only due to tyranny of the majority.
^^^Yes, according to the agenda being pushed by white progressive liberals. They happen to be the democrats who want all of the social programs hampering those the flag is supposed to insult most. It seems my fellow white people are more butt hurt than any other group concerning this.
I remember when die cast car companies removed tobacco company sponsor logos off the race cars Hot Wheels and others sold. The one the media went apesh*t over was the character "Smokin' Joe", the camel.
How/why are people so easily offended? Is the media so powerful? Turn off your TVs and radios.
The United States Military Academy has it right in how it deals with traitors. The location of West Point, of course, was of strategic significance during the Revolutionary War. Benedict Arnold attempted, but failed, to betray it to the British. On the grounds of the Academy are memorial plaques, one for every American general who served in the Revolutionary War. But one plaque has no name. It is just thus:
That's right. It acknowledges his service with his rank and birth year and nothing more, refusing to honor the traitor by naming him. And you won't hear any cadets whining that he should be name because of the flimsy "It's our heritage!" excuse.
And that's more generosity than he or any other American traitor deserves.
The flag was raised in SC to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Civil War.(1861 + 100 = 1961)
And the flag does not fly over the statehouse.
It was 1962 and if that lie was true, why did it fly over the dome until 2000 and then on the grounds until now? I live in South Carolina - that flag was only raised over the dome as an affront to the Civil Rights Era.
There is quite a difference between the American Revolution and Civil War. Had the Brits defeated the Colonial Rebels, the leadership of the latter all likely would've hung. Many heroes of the Confederacy should be happy the North was more interested in moving on and didn't string them all up to hang as the traitors they were. The Confederate flag is a flag of a group who started an armed insurrection because they wanted to keep slaves. Full stop.
.
The victors were incredibly benevolent towards the losers of the war.
The Rebel flag is the low hanging fruit, but everything heaped on the Confederate flag, will eventually be used to demonize and eventually erase the 'racist' American flag.
God everything is some sort of fantastical slipper slope with you people. Sorry but the Stripes and Stars was what the 54th Massachusetts Colored Infantry carried when they assaulted the forces of naked racism carrying the stars and bars. The same folks who honored those who bravely fought against them that they bayonetted colored soldiers in the act of surrender, murdered their white officers and buried them in common graves (although the intended insult was lost on the both).

If I didn't have a life I would create a thousand accounts and rep you with each one.
It's not illegal. Some states are taking it down on state property. No one is coming to get your flags.
People can display them on their private property, cars, belt buckles where ever they want. Some retail stores have decided not to sell them. That's their choice.
And it's my choice to not want to associate with people who display it.
Hmm. Passing up Daisy Duke for Roseanne Barr, eh? Oh, the trials and tribulations of the poopdeck progressives.

Let's not forget that Arlington National Cemetery is located on the former grounds of the Lee family, and while there are confederate dead buried on the grounds for the entire tenure of Brigadier General Montgomery C. Meigs term as Quarter Master General no one was allowed to place flowers upon the graves of confederate soldiers. To enforce that rule, Union veterans stood watch in case anyone attempted to decorate the graves of confederate dead.
All I'm hearing about is how we HAVE TO GET RID OF THE CONFEDERATE FLAG and all the statues, etc too. Where the hell did all this come from? The confederate flag is repped by people all over and has been for years with hardly any issues at all and now all of the sudden we need to get rid of it cus of some lone wolf? And in the south a white person who listens to anti-white black rAPPERS like boosie and plies, etc. is just as likely to wear the flag as any kinda "racist" or w.e u wanna call em.
Unfortunately SC was the heart of the Confederacy. The slayings and the alleged killer's predilections for Confederate memorabilia brought SC's abuse of the flag to national attention. The country is the U.S. SC is a sub-unit of the U.S. The Civil War is over. The flag must not fly, at least on government facilities.

Food for thought.
In this case the murder victims were community leaders, "salt of the earth" people. In typical black-on-black gang fights, not so much.
I suspect the people buying confederate flags are the same ones buying up all the ammo at walmart, because the gubmint is taking their rights away........
I have yet to meet one intelligent person that flies that flag, in fact most are complete loser idiots that sit around all day swilling beer and complaining about all the lazy minorities stealing all the jobs
