So you are not saying that the vote would not be for implementing a ban on guns. Just to get peoples opinions on the matter.

Isnt that what polls are for? There are plenty of those out there already.

That would be an exercise in futility.

First, 2/3 of both houses of Congress have to vote to propose the amendment.

Then 3/4 of the states need to ratify it.

If you think really hard, I'm sure you could come up with more than 13 states that would never consider ratifying the repeal of the 2nd Amendment.

That's not the only way to amend the Constitution, but the overwhelming number of states that would be needed to agree to an amendment would make it nearly impossible to repeal the 2nd amendment.

It really is odd people somehow feel Obama = Gun control. It is actually laughable, but sad people can't seem to get this stuff at all.

Which modifications, thankfully, aren't done in the way you described.

And we have winner for the "moronic Post of the Week" award!( and possibly the lowest low info voter of all time)!
You do realized that we live in a "constitutional republic", you don't get to override the constitution by popular vote.
Gee I don't like that Islamic religion much, let's have vote to see if we should ban it and lock up anyone associated with, what against the 1st amendment?, so what it's a popular vote.

Wow just wow
Your lack of understanding the constitution is astounding, you Should be ashamed of yourself.

Bill

You seem to claim to know what the public wants. You're not even close.

So if gun safety is the last great unfinished business of the Obama administration, does that mean we can expect some new Obama led campaigns to ensure all Americans understand and practice the four rules of gun safety?

1. Treat every firearm as if it's loaded ...
2. Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy ...
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are on target and ready to fire ...
4. Always be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Just wondering ...

Did you not notice his calls for an "assault" weapon ban? His call to ban standard capacity magazines? Willful ignorance?

Nothing has changed because he lacked the support of the legislature, not out of some opposition to gun control.
