Feel free to pay Elmer Fudd a visit at his home at 11413 Landing Road Eden Prairie MN 55347. Don’t forget to bring your hunting gear. Can’t make it then send some mail to him and his wife Tonette. She loves animal killers! His wife is one of the owners of Norman G. Jensen (NGJ) Company, a customs broker in North Dakota. His daughter is Natalie Botes (Palmer) and she can be reached at her company http://www.americanclassicballroom.com.
African nations, Zimbabwe included, have WAY bigger issues than American, or other foreign hunters, with their wildlife. Local poachers are really brutal, and truly wasteful. Ck etex parts are removed from animals while they are still alive, and they leave them that way after they get what they want.
They use traps that maim, only worry about bringing the animal down, not killing it, truly nasty people. Fees from legal hunters are supposed to go toward fighting these vermin, but, with the corruption in African nations, not near enough money makes it to wildlife protection.
One, notes me exception, used to be, South Africa. Pre Mandela. They had an AWSOME, wildlife preservation and protection system. The government contracted with local tribes, providing money, medicine, food, schools, all kinds of things, and the tribes guarded the wildlife from poachers. Watched a really good show on History channel bout it. The tribes were certain death to poachers. Killing poachers was a good thing. And, the wildlife was thriving.
Mandela did away with the program. Slid things downhill a bit. Their still doing better than some other nations, but not as good as they were. Truly, some of the hatred here would be better directed at the poachers. They do far worse things, to far more wildlife, every, single day.
Well said!
An example, Ivory is banned in the U.S. but poachers are still killing big game for Ivory. Why? because we are only one piece of the worlds population and those other pieces don't ban Ivory.
This is messed up. What did the daughter do? Bashing her business is almost as depraved as what her dad did the the lion.
I know some people are up and arms over an innocent lion. but what about the innocent cows, chickens, pigs, etc that are bred for slaughter.. LOL @ this thread.
Yesterday, i had a nice grilled chicken sandwich. a poor little chicken died for it. Let's all cry! Imagine if chickens were as strong and violent as Lions. Chickens would be an endangered species and wouldn't be bred for slaughter due to the danger.
Last night a friend of mine made an interesting point and one worth thinking about and it was "what have we as a people become when the outrage over the killing of a lion reaches the fever pitch that it has but Doctors crushing a fetus (or killing a human life depending on your view of life) in such a way to be able to sell it's parts for profit creates a veritable whisper"?
Has this been mentioned? The killing of a male lion, is considered sacred, amongst many tribal beliefs in Africa. It names the "hunter" as a favored individual. Granted, " Cecil" was not a man killer, yet, among certain tribes, in the area, the "hunter" , , will have certain respect. So, there are cultural aspects to look at here. To many locals, Cecil may have been as much a detriment, as a.beloved animal..just sayin'
Fair enough. But then Palmer should have left the killing of the animal up to the local tribe, since they are the ones most affected by the lion, and since the respect granted the hunter is important in their culture. A rich foreigner shouldn't have any say in it.

and as a result their habitats will be diminished. diminishing habitats are real threats to lions, trophy hunters are not.
I think we need to get some perspective here. Animals don't have feelings, they are just there. It was probably going to die soon. This guy paid good money for it so he has every right to take it home and get it stuffed. The money he paid can be put back into the local economy to breed more animals and preserve the habitat. Some people are so ungrateful.
