If Palmer hasn't been yet charged with a crime, he does not need to make himself available to the government.
Same people are also the first ones to talk about unreasonable search and seizure and being questioned by the police. Wait, this is different, he killed a Lion.
And it gives me hope that if we can agree on the “little stuff,” and if that “little stuff” reminds us that we are capable of compassion, maybe some day we can agree on the “big stuff.”
He is dead because people MADE him comfortable around humans.
What part of wild animals not being comfortable around humans don't you understand?
You think wild animals follow trucks dragging meat? They don't go near trucks unless they see them all the time and someone makes a point of driving trucks near them - all the time.
Yeah, so natural to have people driving around with buckets full of people in them.
That is why he followed the truck. Lions kill and eat their prey, they don't follow trucks unless they got used to trucks.
Think instead of constantly digging into the emotional bucket.
You think a wild animal reads the sign that says "Protected Area"?
People who think just like you killed Cecil. The dentist just pulled the trigger.
Dude, your desperation reeks. I'm almost embarrassed for you if it weren't so pathetic. You should save face and bow out now.
I think we need to get some perspective here. Animals don't have feelings, they are just there. It was probably going to die soon. This guy paid good money for it so he has every right to take it home and get it stuffed. The money he paid can be put back into the local economy to breed more animals and preserve the habitat. Some people are so ungrateful.

First, humans are animals - by definition, as Homo sapiens are members of the kingdom Animalia. What do you think pain is? It's a mechanism by which animals avoid things that harm them. Why do you think an injured dog whines? Why do you think a creature recoils from the heat of a fire? Beyond pain, why does a car purr? The cat is feeling (the pleasure of touch and social contact, to be precise). There are gorillas who have sign language vocabularies of hundreds of words. One gorilla (Koko) spontaneously described ducks as 'water birds' - she had been taught the words 'water' and 'duck' and put them together to describe a specific type of bird that she observed. Parrots achieve complex problem-solving in the lab - no, not instinctual things that all parrots must do in the wild, but working through problems created by researchers that the birds would never encounter in the wild. They think through the problems. Chimpanzees make tools. These are instinctive acts, they're demonstrations of abstract thought.
Do you actually think the literally medieval notion that 'animals don't have feelings, they are just there' is accurate... or are you just throwing anything out there that you think will be useful in running interference for this serial poacher?
I know, right? The ignorance and myopia displayed on CD can be mind-boggling at times. Incredible.
If some poor African had killed Cecil, no one would say a thing. It might made a small headline for a minute but that is about it.
Some people wait around for someone to focus on and they found it, a wealthy dentist and as a bonus, he is white! Out come the hoards.
They don't care about Cecil, they hate the dentist.
If they cared about Cecil then why do they make a big deal over the money the cat brought in through pictures?
Do kids learn anything from the pictures of Cecil? Absolutely not because none of the pictures are of Cecil in the wild, he is around humans and unafraid of them. In fact as someone here said, he was "comfortable" around people.
Since when is a Lion supposed to be comfortable around people? That is why Cecil is dead. Instead of being wary of humans, he followed the truck dragging some meat. Ever see a truck dragging meat around in the wild? No, wild animals stay away from humans unless they have no other choice.
Why do Polar Bears go into towns? Food. Do Polar Bears live in towns? Do they want to?
The people who killed Cecil are the same ones who think having a lion comfortable around humans is ok. Then they parade around shedding tears for Cecil. Save it.
If you don't see anything wrong with this.... You go in the sociopath column with the good doctor.
Killing for fun is not something that human beings should do. Killing to survive, protect, feed a family, etc. Those things are what human beings do. Killing animals for fun, starting fires, and bed wetting are signs of a potential serial killer. I guess we are lucky he had the bucks to contain his blood lust to the animal kingdom.
Would you let him put his hands into your mouth?
