Well said. That is exactly how I feel about it.

Though I cant stand how liberal CNN hypes the story again and again, replete with faux impressions of global outrage beyond PETA, it was a lousy thing to do.

Good grief, the lion was baited from the park, then hunted with a crossbow by a "great White hunter" who has been in trouble over game laws before. The hunter did not have the skills to make a clean kill. The wounded lion was then tracked and killed by locals and the "Great White Hunter" was then brought to the site of "his" kill to collect the trophies.

All we know is some dentist would do neither. He'd look around for more hidden drugs if any before bagging them back home to savor
No, he's been attacked by an angry mob of internet busybodies smelling blood and feeling invincible behind their (supposed) anonymity, and a very large proportion of them just wants to hunt down and destroy someone and this story is just an excuse for them.

If you feel it's OK to destroy someone's life before all facts are in... well, perhaps one day this should happen to you. Karma is a *****, you know.
Palmer for sure is 100% with you on this. He knows best

That reminds me of the movie "hostel", the dentist could well become one of those professionals seen in the movie's factory.

We don't allow soldiers to pose with enemy solders killed in war, even though their deaths may be within our law.

If they couldn't brag and post body parts in their man caves then the value proposition to them changes.
Couldn't agree more. I am hoping that this situation leads to a ban on importation of animal body parts and trophy killing is seen as a socially unacceptable practice.

How many lion heads does one man need????????? Maybe he wanted a matching pair to display over his fireplace. This pos deserves every bit of what he is getting.

Eco tourism is actually much more profitable than trophy hunting. A lion or elephant is worth much more in the long run from "hunters" with cameras than those with guns. The local safari/lodge operators said they would have taken in the $50,000 the dentist paid for Cecil in only 5 days via photo safaris.

I haven't read any post using that terminology. Seems like you just made that up!

No one thinks Cecil was a purring cat, etc.

He was somewhat 'tame' in the sense that he allowed himself to be photographed by tourists, that's all.

In fact, I believe there is no such thing as a tame carnivore, even those raised by humans.

The act of deliberately finding and posting that information in a thread where there are multiple calls for murdering this dentist (exaggerated or not) is not an innocent act of sharing publicly available information. No matter how you spin it. One day the courts will be forced to make a decision on this once and for all.

It's funny that all these people so upset over the death of one lion want to extradite the dentist to the country ruled by this man

Robert Mugabe eats a zoo for 'obscene' 91st birthday party - People - News - The Independent

Yep, let's extradite the guy who may have knowingly killed one protected lion to the guy who literally eats protected species for dinner.

Or Mugabe will kill a few more elephants and serve the dentist as the garnish.
