Fortunately or unfortunately (as we saw with the Nazis) the European people have a tendency to take matters into their own hands when the politicians don't deal with it. The French government needed to act here, not dive into an "emergency Cabinet meeting."

This attack, like 911 shows that the radical Islamists are at war with the West. The rest of the Muslims need to make a choice; either they're with the West or with the Islamists.

The fact is- we distract ourselves quite well with no outside assistance. Everything you mentioned is entirely home-grown All American, and we are very good at growing it all.

While we need to keep our vigilance against the terrorists, I do not believe heads stuck on pikes would scare any of them at all. If anything, that kind of barbarity is playing into their hands, not our common everyday nonsense we love so much.

Wake up? i think all of us are wide awake, thanks. I also think you need to move out of your tinfoil lined closet and take a few deep breaths of fresh air. Conspiracies probably exist, but none that are serious would be as silly as yours.

You're not awake at all. I guess you believe everything your told on FOX and CNN, after all "if it's on CNN is must be true"....sigh. There are certainly news stories that are a done do deflect other issues.

Example, the Cleveland kidnapping nonsense. Came out as Obama and Hilary were under fire for Benghazi. Benghazi went away and all you heard about was the kidnapping. Do a little critical thinking Mike.

You really think a guy kept three women in a house for 10 years when the houses were so close you could reach out the window and touch the house next door. And not one time in 10 years no would have heard anything, no attempt to escape????? The women were out and about in no time, one was bumping and grinding and TEXTING(quite well I might add) at a rap concert with a boyfriend a few weeks later....wow, amazing recovery and learned technology rather quickly.

The kidnapper goes to jail, of course gets killed, and the house is leveled.

But you keep making fun of people who do some thinking.

Many are not awake, they're too busy with Facebook, and texting nonsense. They walk around like zombies. You think people are awake who can't even bother to look around a parking lot at Target to see if a car might hit them, more important to look at that device in their hand.

Maybe the will wake up when they start seeing what happened in Paris today, happen here.

Maybe.

I am glad you see that, but it is late in the game.

You're talking about a France and Europe of 70 years ago. I don't think the French of today have it in them to fight back.

There was a French Underground during WW2 that fought back against the Nazis, made up of civilians.

You don't have that anymore, there or here.

Westerners have been indoctrinated with extreme pacifism even as populations in their own nations are increasingly violent. It would take a huge shift in thinking and a dangerous and unfortunate rise of the far right which these crazy lefties in power (for decades) in most of these countries have all but ensured.

And Obama still won't use the term "Islamic or Muslim terrorists".

Europeans can show their fangs rather suddenly and to great effect. Witness Germany from June 30, 1934 on through Kristallnacht through WW II.

I think it's pretty telling that during a lot of coverage no mention of the ID of the perps has been mentioned, but I see it far less to do with political correctness - than the fact that many consider it a given.

Now that Europeans have learned that they're not safe anywhere and the government won't profile, they'll take matters into their own hands. It will get extremely ugly.

Right. I remember that same talk after 7/7 and in short order it was all over. Blair's National ID card was scraped as were other measures.
