I live in California, so I believe it is true. It costs so much to live here, you probably would not believe me even if I told you. For an illegal, it must be impossible or al least very difficult. Hell, it is hard for a lot of Americans to afford it here. So perhaps one day, that wall may be in place to keep us in the US, instead of wondering down into Mexico where everything is way less expensive. That the bad part about walls; they keep people out, but they also keep people in.

What utter nonsense. There would always be legal ports of entry and exit at our border. Talk about fear mongering.
Illegals can live here easily by living several in one house and they do. They access our welfare coffers through their U.S. born kids. It supplements their income. They get free healthcare, etc. In many cases they are probably living better than your average poor American.
Just visit the crossing at Los Algodones or San Luis outside of Yuma Az to watch them come and go on a daily basis and you'd see they come across driving stuff you would not see on the roads anywhere else to return later in the evening with those crappy pick-up trucks loaded to the gunwhales with anything that will bring scrap value that wasn't tied down in Arizona.
One particular approaching deadline of e-verify compliance or some such, saw them stripping the rental homes they were living in of every conceivable thing of value, fixtures, plumbing, wiring, windows, doors and even flooring, to beat feet back across the border into Mexico.
You folks have been so screwed by them for decades you've become inured to the process.
Yes because we all know that illegals use legit border crossings!
Actually that is a big deal, because it is certainly not happening in Europe. This drop has made it much easier to integreate the ones who are already in the US.
It is precisely of this reason US is not going to have a big immigration problem in the future. Yes, whites will eventually be a minority, but the ones replacing them are almost white Christians. Republicans shouldn't worry about hispanics, many of them will become just like them in the future.
Compared to the EU, I think the US has a bright future. Not only has EU economy done terribly, but now millions of muslims is wandering into EU each year. This will not end well, and US will end up looking quite good in comparison.
Really? They will become obnoxious wealthy people? How is that supposed to happen?
The headline doesn't follow the data. It's not referring to the present. It's referring to the period from 2009 to 2014. Obviously the USA experienced massive job losses during that period. That says nothing about what the migration rate is in 2015 (as the misleading headline suggests) or what it will be in 2020. In fact, choosing 2009 as a start date reeks of a deliberately misleading use of statistics to the point that it's a stretch to call this "news".

I live in So Cal and I couldn't agree more with you. Anyone who thinks illegals are decreasing in number here is living in a fantasy world. CA is more than happy to give anything it takes to illegals to keep them here. Remember the Cal Fresh commercial using Hispanic actors practicably begging people to get on food stamps?
That could just mean that most of the ones that are arriving recently are leaving, with only a few staying behind. This may not actually affect the numbers we currently have.
