You are so full of crap it's not even funny. For starters, on a Pew Research poll last year, Mormons scored higher than either Catholics or Protestants on knowledge of the Bible. Mormons read and the study the Bible constantly, and we know what it says. So much for your "moronic" post.
Seems somewhat petty for major religions to be arguing who has read the Bible more. This kind of disputing, only makes people wonder just how Christian many people are in the first place.
The point is we need more displays of that kind of decency from Muslims. The Muslims need to isolate their malignant militants and treat them like the cancer they are.
Oh C'mon, give me a break. When Timothy McVeigh set off the bomb in OKC, I didn't hear anyone saying "we need to isolate their (white males) malignant militants and treat them like the cancer they are."
When Eric Rudolph bombed the Olympics in Atlanta (bet most of y'all forgot that one...), I didn't hear anyone saying "we need to isolate their malignant militants and treat them like the cancer they are."
This list could go on for a while ya know... I haven't even gotten to the DC sniper, Planned Parenthood attacks/bombings, the plane flown into an IRS building in Austin a couple of years ago, etc etc...
Heck, now that I think about it; I've never heard of anyone saying "let's isolate their malignant militants and treat them like the cancer they are" after ANY of the multitude of mass shootings perpetrated by a deranged white male with a gun. Instead, they are "lone wolves" or "mentally ill" and their families are looked upon with pity.
We have separatists groups in the US right now, many of which are becoming increasingly militant with the expectation of a second civil war. No one is talking about isolating "their malignant militants and treat them like the cancer they are."
1.7 Billion Muslims in the world today. Even if the Jihadists had 10,000 fiercely loyal soldiers and extremists, it's such a small % of the population it's laughable (something to the effect of 0.00059%). Articles have been written stating that most of ISIS' fighters in the middle east are simply fighting for $. That's how militarized the culture is in that part of the world, which is a big reason why I'm all for getting the heck out and figuring out how to reduce our dependence on their oil.
If you honestly believe any of those terrorists are actually Muslim than I pity you.
They are no more religious than the "Christian" nuts who slaughtered countless in the Crusades, or the various factions of "Christianity" that squared off in Northern Ireland, or the KKK or the Lord's Resistance Army. Get a clue.
If they're not muslim, why are they saying their terrorism is justified by teachings in the koran?
Why do they yell "Alahh ackbar" when they open fire on innocent civilians?
Why are there acts of terrorism, in every corner of the globe, committed by muslims?
That's an awful lot of crazy people, all connected by the same book, all killing in the name of their religion.
So, do you still think it doesn't have to do with islam?
The story is notable because of the rarity of such events.
I have no stats on how common or rare this is. I suspect you are correct, and it is newsworthy because it is not the norm. However, it is just as unusual for Christians to stand up to Muslims who are the victims of anti-Muslim violence. There has been a huge up-tick in anti-Muslim crime in the US since the Paris and San Bernadino attacks. Muslims (including children) have been assaulted and even shot for no other reason than that they were Muslim. Mosques attacks are at a 5-year high (and attacks on mosques had already been happening fairly consistently since 9/11, as have armed protests outside of mosques. It seems to me that we non-Muslims could be doing more to stand up for our Muslim neighbors, as well.
There are differences in divinity claims but Christ=the messiah is a commonality.
A Merry Christmas present from our Kenyan brothers against the evil ones.
No, Muslims do not view Christ as The Messiah. In Islam Jesus is a prophet AND a Muslim. Islam rejects the Trinitarian view of Christianity and it rejects the claim that Jesus was the Son of God.

You need to get a clue yourself. Religions aren't some perfect unblemished thing handed down from a God. They are manmade, and have existed in all sorts of harmless AND abhorrent forms since human consciousness began as far as we can tell. Including religions that sacrificed children, and religions that waged war against those that don't believe the crock.
Those crusaders absolutely were Christians doing it in the name of Christianity. And the super-wahabbist super and super-salafist muslim terrorists of today are Muslims doing it in the name of Islam. There's a big difference between ebing relgion X and doing a bad thing versus doing a bad thing in the name of religion X. And when it gets to the point of an organized movement of tens or hundreds of thousands - then its a problem.
We are not talking about believing in the Universal Declaration of Human rights here. We are talking about hugely imperfect, malleable, ideologies which get a pass from people like you because the ideology has the sticky label "Religion" on it.
Religions are what their creators make them to be - and that changes over time. Christianity was a hell of a crappy religion for the civilized world back in crusader times. Many people still have a problem with its divisive homophobia and other aspects of it today.
Get this: Islam is an ideology. Christianity is an ideology. Capitalism is an ideology. Socialism is an ideology. They are people-created and are what people make them to be at that time - not some ideal.
And all religions are NOT equivalent, despite the intellectual dishonesty out there claiming they are. A religion which says never kill anything (e.g. Jainism) is not going to have the same consequences for the world as a religion that says "you can kill sometimes, depending..."
Those terrorists are - actually Muslim. Your starry-eyed naivety about "Islam" and "Christianity" notwithstanding.

Almost every major military action by the US over the last 25 years has been in defense of innocent Muslims somewhere in the world.

Oh, you didn't know? Isolation from the bad in the group is only for people with darker skin pigmentation.

You are equating vandalism of Muslim property and lawful protests to non-Muslims being murdered by loyal Muslims similar to the attacks in Paris and San Bernadino?
