Taking advantage of the "racist cafeteria food" fiasco at Oberlin college, Black students have put forth a list of demands - including getting paid to protest, free tuition for black students, and Jim Crow style "segregated black-only ‘safe spaces.’"
At the conclusion of the list of demands, they write "These are demands and not suggestions. If these demands are not taken seriously, immediate action from the Africana community will follow"
From the first paragraph of the Black Student Union manifesto:
Quote:
From capitalizing on massive labor exploitation across campus, to the Conservatory of Music treating Black and other students of color as less than through its everyday running, Oberlin College unapologetically acts as unethical institution, antithetical to its historical vision.
This actually explains a lot. Oberlin is a fairly selective college, yet the person who wrote this was admitted without the ability even to form a coherent sentence. Is it any surprise if he/she is frustrated and sees the whole college experience as some dishonest game?

Which is the precise reason why affirmative action doesn't work. People should be admitted based on merit, not on race.

I wish for once one of these colleges would respond to this sort of threat with "come at us bros."
Make all the demands you like, what are you going to do, yell louder?

It is amazing how many "poor people" with children are in college. As if these people are serious about getting ahead! Gang members in college what is their degree.......doctors and lawyers????
