I've flown with orthodox jewish women a few times in my life from Texas, N.Y. And Israel.
NEVER did they subject women dressed in skirts this way. Myself included.
She just drew the short straw and got randomly mauled. The juice and phone didn't help though.
Sadly this is what our post 9/11 world & life has come too so all we can do is look back when we lived in such naive circumstances.
Nobody groped or molested your child in the video and at least you taught her well to be complacent with authority.
Be thankful you got to your destination safely instead.
The liquids regulation has been in effect for years. This isn't anything new. There's 80 billion signs at airports about what's allowed in carry on. There's a lifesize poster in front of you at the TSA line. Don't like the search? Follow the rules or don't fly. It's that simple. Don't whine about breaking the rules and how awful the experience was when you brought it on yourself. No 15 minutes of fame for you.
The problem with this kind of thinking is it can become ridiculous. Why not have all the passengers submit to a rectal examination before they fly because perhaps someone has a bomb up there? Look in their mouths too. They could be hiding something up there. And women? I don't think I have to complete the sentence. Maybe we should all fly naked just to create an extra layer of security. Don't tell me that's absurd either. Its the natural conclusion of where all this is going.
What you are doing is engaging in a dangerous line of reasoning. That reasoning is that we can't question essentially any security measure because our authorities will always know better than we do. (even when they don't)
The chances of being killed by a terrorist attack are far less than being killed in some kind of accident are. Yet, we don't take leave of our senses and do extraordinary things because people are killed in accidents.
A proper security policy attempts to balance the likelihood of a particular action against the cost of prohibiting it. It doesn't enact ten thousand rules that are blindly applied to everyone. Honestly, that is just stupid.
Try telling your story to the families of any of the passengers who have been blown out of the sky by a terrorist's bomb. See if they think good security measures are "stupid".
Some people simply hate any kind of authority and find every excuse to be a rebel against it. Me, I expect our elected officials to do everything they feel necessary to protect the public. I have no problem with it. If you do, that is your problem.

You guys do realize that this is optional? The father was either ignorant or stupid. If you don't want to subject yourself to TSA guidelines, then don't.
I travel several times a year and I've never seen a pat down like that or experienced one personally. My pat downs are always quickly done - arms, side of torso (not stomach and back), and legs. I think one time my waistband was checked.
Different strokes, I guess.
I am an adult female and I have been patted down EXACTLY like that, twice. The agent in this video was professional, impersonal and respectful.
If you're stupid enough to not know that NO LIQUIDS means NO LIQUIDS when going through the check-point, then you only have yourself to blame if something like this happens. I always make a point of either finishing my drink or trashing it before I get to that point.
