I guess she could try to finish out her residency elsewhere, if a program picks her up. Best of luck!

I wouldn't want her as my doctor. She's already proven herself to be unprofessional & a rude jerk. Enough doctors have these negative traits already - we don't need any more!

No sympathy what so every. We were all young and got drunk, few of us acted like this. She appears to have come from privilege and seems as if the rules do not apply to her, this is a trait that is not easily undone.

I'm curious as to what will become of her.

I would argue that >98% of us go on to successfully finish residency after graduating from med school. ue to the high profile nature of her horrible actions, it'll be nearly impossible for her to get into another residency program.

Perhaps she'll give up the goal of being involved with direct patient care and go on to use her degree to go into business, consulting, etc.

Oh well...

Its an overreaction unless the hospital knows something that isn't public knowledge.

The best way to deal with someone like this is to force them enter into counseling for their behavioral problems. As long as the person complied in good faith and rectified their problem they should be allowed to keep their position.

This was not a serious incident. No one was injured and no criminal charges were brought.

Most importantly, I don't see what she did that has a connection being a physician. If she showed up for work inebriated or assaulted someone at the hospital, I would feel differently.

No one in this world is perfect. Rather than simply condemning everyone we should try harder to rectify bad behavior and other problems. Being overly punitive solves nothing.

Nice apologist attitude here. This woman attempted to kick this Uber driver in the crotch; not sure if she connected or not, but this was definitely assault - pure & simple. She could easily have been arrested (there was enough justification), but wasn't. As far as I'm concerned, she got off easy by just getting fired. Sure, she probably ruined her life but it could have been a lot worse.

Imagine if a guy or a woman of another ethnic group had done this same thing?! They would almost certainly have been arrested & had a record for the rest of their life.

Who ever is apologizing for this woman's behavior is probably a doctor themselves, or has a relative/spouse/SO in the medical profession. Which doesn't surprise me, since the medical profession attracts the most arrogant & entitled people on the planet.
